Ambulatory surgery is growing worldwide. The challenge of providing anaesthesia for longer and more complex surgery in sicker and elderly patients is a reality. To maintain the safety and good outcomes of ambulatory anaesthesia, high-risk patients will need to be evaluated carefully.
