Abstract
One of the most severe side effects of anti-tumour chemotherapy is mucositis due to drug toxicity for rapidly dividing cells. We show here that anti-DXR monoclonal antibodies can prevent DXR-induced damage. Indeed, apoptosis, confined to the proliferative compartment of the basal mucosa, observed in the tongue of DXR-treated mice was completely inhibited by topical application of the anti-DXR antibodies.Entities:
