Abstract
Intussusception, the telescoping of one segment of bowel onto an adjacent segment, is uncommon in adults in the United States. This is in contrast to intussusception in the tropics, where most cases occur in adults with GI infections. HIV-infected patients are at high risk for conditions that predispose to intussusception, namely tumors and infections of the GI system. We describe a case of intussusception in an adult patient with AIDS and review the pertinent clinical and diagnostic features of this condition.Entities:
