Genomic organization and chromosomal mapping of the basic helix-loop-helix factor OUT (Tcf23/TCF23).

Abstract

The genomic organization of Tcf23, the gene coding for mouse OUT, a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor, was determined and its chromosome location was assigned to the A3 region of chromosome 5. By in silico searching, we further found the human counterpart of the mouse OUT gene (TCF23) in the draft human genome sequence and assigned it to 2p24-->p23. Copyright 2001 S. Karger AG, Basel
