Abstract
A 47-year-old human immunodeficiency virus-seronegative West African man who presented in extremis with cachexia, lymphadenopathy, multiple organ dysfunction, and marked T-lymphocytopenia received the diagnosis of disseminated tuberculosis, cryptococcal pneumonia, and cryptococcemia. His subsequent course and our review of the literature suggest that the profound T-lymphocytopenia and ensuing cryptococcal disease were likely attributable to disseminated tuberculosis.Entities:
