A case of transverse testicular ectopia with müllerian duct remnant.

S Ueno1, S Yokoyama, H Hirakawa.

Abstract

Transverse testicular ectopia (TTE) associated with persistent müllerian duct (PMD) is a rare genitourinary anomaly. The authors report a case with a review of the literature and stress the importance of careful physical examination and ultrasonography in making a correct preoperative diagnosis of TTE. One should be careful not to miss the tiny PMD structure at the operation. Transseptal orchidopexy is the surgical treatment of choice. Copyright 2001 by W.B. Saunders Company.
