Abstract
A case of haemodialysis-associated bacteraemia due to Bordetella holmesii is described. Commercially available identification kits failed to identify the isolate, which was speciated using 16s rRNA gene sequencing. B. holmesii is a rare cause of bacteraemia, endocarditis and pneumonia in the immunosuppressed and may also cause a pertussis-like illness.Entities:
