Treatment of band keratopathy.

Abstract

Band keratopathy, caused by a variety of chronic ocular or systemic diseases, produces pain, photophobia, and decreased vision. A simple method for treating band keratopathy consists of scraping the cornea vigorously with a No. 15 scalped blade until the superficial calcium has been removed.
