Abstract
Activation of antigen-presenting cells (APC) and natural killer (NK) cells initiates the production of various proinflammatory cytokines including interleukin 12 (IL-12), interferon gamma (IFN-gamma) and nitric oxide (NO), which are important in the innate immune response for controlling infection by intracellular pathogens. In this review, we focus on these cytokines produced by APC and summarize the current understanding of how APC functions are regulated by cytokines in innate immunity.Entities:
