Abstract
The development of deep venous thrombosis and the ensuing secondary complications of pulmonary embolism, disseminated intravascular coagulation, and stroke may be produced in high altitude climbers as a result of acclimatization to altitude. To prevent these serious disorders, investigation for predisposing risk factors and consideration of anticoagulative therapy should be considered. Copyright 2001 Harcourt Publishers Ltd.Entities:
