Abstract
General principles regarding glutamatergic synapse formation in the central nervous system are beginning to emerge. These principles concern the specific roles that dendrites and axons play in the induction of synaptic differentiation, the modes of presynaptic and postsynaptic assembly, the time course of synapse formation and maturation, and the roles of synaptic activity in these processes.Mesh:
