[Urethra fistula repair without using a urethral stent].

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To report the experience in fistula repair without a urethral stent.
METHOD: During the operation, the wound after approximating the epithelium was made twice the diameter of the fistula. Then an adjacent flap was turned over to cover and close the fistula. 50 fistulae in 37 patients were repaired without using a urethral stent after the operation. RESULT: There has been no recurrence in the past 7 years.
CONCLUSION: This method is one of the best ways for fistula repair and has a bright prospect in application.
