Abstract
Areflexic quadriplegia due to barium carbonate (rat poison) poisoning is described in two young patients. These cases very closely resembled Guillain-Barre syndrome. The various effects of barium carbonate along with the pathogenesis of hypokalaemic paralysis are highlighted.Entities:
