Abstract
A 31-year-old female developed the anaplastic astrocytoma in the right basal ganglia and temporal lobe 8 years after partial resection and irradiation of the central neurocytoma. Probably the malignant astrocytoma was an irradiation-induced tumor. Postoperative radiation therapy for the central neurocytoma appears to have a good effect on tumor local control. But it should be carefully decided whether to use radiation therapy for residual tumor because of the risk of delayed complications of irradiation, such as the present case.Entities:
