Specific requirements for preoperative and postoperative photos used in publication.

I Talamas, L Pando.

Abstract

In this paper, eight variables in clinical photography are discussed. It is important that the photographs taken before and after a procedure be as similar as possible in order to accurately reflect the results. The variables that can have a big impact on photographs are: the room in which the photographs are taken, the camera used, the type of film used, the distance of the photographer from the patient, the photographer him or herself, the light source and location, the film development process, and when the postoperative photographs are taken.
