Abstract
This paper explores the relationship between the health of residents and the quality of social relationships within a disadvantaged urban neighbourhood. The author draws on her experience both as a nurse and an elected district councillor to illuminate connections between crime, antisocial behaviour, health and well-being. It is argued that these connections are neglected in health literatures, to the detriment of the development of a theoretical basis for health related community development work.Year: 1998 PMID: 11560591 DOI: 10.1046/j.1365-2524.1998.00117.x
