Abstract
Radical abdominal hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy remain the gold standard procedures for the treatment of early cervical cancer. Over the years, the establishment of formal gynecologic oncology training programs, general medical advancements, and new surgical techniques have resulted in a satisfactory tumor resection, with improved overall therapeutic index and reliable cure rates.
