Historic genomics: an emergent discipline.

A Arnaiz-Villena1.

Abstract

The widespread new technologies devised for study gene variability in populations makes it feasible to compare history, a relatively subjective discipline, with a more objective data. This is the basis of historic genomics, which aims to make a measurable contribution to history interpretation. The study of diseased genes in populations will also give rise to epidemiological genomics, which will have a remarkable impact in the predictive medicine of future societies.
