Abstract
We report herein a rare case of Toxoplasma gondii meningoencephalitis in a non-AIDS patient. Although T. gondii itself was not detected in nucleated cells in peripheral blood and cerebrospinal fluid under the microscope, the polymerase chain reaction method effectively detected the B1 gene of T. gondii in the cells. A serological examination showed increased levels of the IgG but not the IgM antibody to T. gondii, suggesting reactivation of the infection in the brain.Entities:
