Nature of anionic or alpha-site of cholinesterase.

H D Höltje, L B Kier.

Abstract

The nature of the so-called anionic binding site of acetylcholinesterase was investigated using a technique called receptor mapping using model interaction calculations. The results support the suggestion that coulombic forces play only a minor role in the binding event at this enzyme site.
