Myocardin. a novel potentiator of SRF-mediated transcription in cardiac muscle.

S D Hauschka1.

Abstract

In the June 29, 2001, issue of Cell, Wang et al. report the discovery of myocardin, a cardiac and smooth muscle-specific accessory factor for SRF. This work provides insight into the mechanism of cardiac-specific transcription and suggests the importance of myocardin in early cardiac development.
