Arterial embolization for haemorrhage in the obstetric patient.

P Corr1.

Abstract

Arterial embolization is a safe and effective treatment for persistent post-partum haemorrhage that is unresponsive to conservative management. Embolization should be the treatment of choice in these patients provided that suitable radiological skills and equipment are available. Embolization is potentially useful in patients with antepartum haemorrhage in the last trimester or in patients at high risk for antepartum haemorrhage. Copyright 2001 Harcourt Publishers Ltd.
