Abstract
Erythropoietin (EPO) is produced in the brain, uterus, and oviduct. Brain EPO plays a neuroprotective role, and uterine EPO is likely involved in estrogen-dependent angiogenesis. Hypoxic induction of brain EPO markedly differs from that in the kidney. EPO in the uterus and oviduct is estrogen inducible.Entities:
