Peritoneal encapsulation: a rare cause of bowel obstruction in children.

Abstract

Two rare cases of peritoneal encapsulation causing partial intestinal obstruction are described. Both were operated on, and one of them had a "cocoonlike" appearance. The characteristics and differences of peritoneal encapsulation and abdominal cocoon are discussed. Copyright 2001 by W.B. Saunders Company.
