Abstract
The authors report two cases of malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors arising from the vagus nerve in the mediastinum in patients who had no stigmata of neurofibromatosis (von Recklinghausen's disease). Computed tomography showed homogeneous soft tissue masses, with minimal calcification seen in one patient. T2-weighted magnetic resonance images showed regions of low signal intensity caused by a dense cellular population.Entities:
