Abstract
A 51-year-old woman presented with intermittent diarrhea and marked loss of weight. Stool examination and duodenal intubation both yielded coccidian oocytes of Isospora belli. The patient responded to treatment with Septrin (trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole), 2 g daily for three weeks. This is the first reported case of severe human coccidiosis in Israel.Entities:
