Abstract
Calculated retinal and olfactory surface areas of the Mexican fruit-bat Artibeus jamaicensis and the little brown bat Myotis lucifugus, when compared with known eye sizes and echolocation capabilities, suggest that vision and olfaction both may diminish in relative importance as facility for orientation by echolocation increases.Entities:
