Abstract
This article provides a perspective of clinical preceptor contributions to advanced practice nurse education. It supports quality clinical education in the face of the proliferation of academic programs, and the economics of the resulting competition. The strategies of 2 universities are used as examples of how nurse practitioner programs respond to issues such as who precepts students, how preceptors are identified, what draws preceptors to the role, and the effects of students on clinic productivity.Mesh:
