Abstract
Serofibrinous pleuropneumonia in a piglet was examined microbiologically and immunohistopathologically. Large numbers of Morganella morganii were isolated from the pneumonic lesion, but no other pathogens were identified. A large amount of M. morganii antigen was demonstrated, and its distribution was closely associated with the histologic lesion. This finding suggests that pleuropneumonia in piglets might be caused by M. morganii.Entities:
