Abstract
We report the case of an adult male presenting in shock caused by spontaneous rupture of a pathologically normal spleen. One day before his presentation he had received a single subcutaneous injection of enoxaparin. This was the patient's only clearly identifiable risk factor for spontaneous splenic rupture. Nontraumatic splenic rupture should be included in the differential diagnosis of shock.Entities:
