Abstract
We present a case of endocarditis caused by Salmonella in a patient with newly diagnosed diabetes and preexisting rheumatic heart disease. Despite sterilization of the blood with a fluoroquinolone and a third-generation cephalosporin, the patient required surgical intervention.Entities:
