Abstract
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a complex, often misunderstood disease that requires comprehensive medical and nursing care. Recently published clinical practice guidelines provide new direction with regard to the causes, diagnosis, treatment, and nursing care of patients with GERD. Using a case study approach, this article outlines the most recent evidence-based treatment options and patient education guidelines for a patient suffering from a complicated case of GERD.Entities:
