Abstract
A diphyllobothriid cestode infection found in a 54-year-old male residing in Oita, Japan, was successfully treated by oral administration of Gastrografin in combination with a intramuscular injection of Vagostigmin. The strobila expelled was 6.14 m long with a scolex, and morphologically identical with Diphyllobothrium nihonkaiense except unusual ovaries of which posterior horns were confluent in each proglottid. This is the first case of treatment of cestode infection by oral administration of Gastrografin.Entities:
