Abstract
DNA replication in Escherichia coli is controlled at the initiation stage, possibly by regulation of the essential activity of DnaA protein. The cellular membrane has long been hypothesized to be involved in chromosomal replication. Accumulating evidence, both in vitro and in vivo, that supports the importance of membrane phospholipids influencing the initiation activity of DnaA is reviewed.Entities:
