A freeze-fracture study of the junctions between glomerular epithelial cells in aminonucleoside nephrosis.

Abstract

In rats with aminonucleoside nephrosis, glomerular slit pores are mostly replaced by sites of close apposition between adjacent epithelial cell membranes. In replicas of freeze-fractured glomeruli, such junctions showed incomplete fibrils or grooves typical of "leaky" zonulae occludentes.
