Abstract
The natural history of patients who developed complete atrioventricular block after valvular heart surgery was investigated to determine the optimal timing for pacemaker implantation. Patients who developed complete atrioventricular block within 24 hours after operation, which then persisted for > 48 hours, were unlikely to recover; such patients could potentially undergo earlier pacemaker implantation if otherwise ready for discharge.Entities:
