Abstract
IMPLICATIONS: We describe prolonged drowsiness proceeding to hepatic encephalopathy in a child with sickle cell trait and carnitine palmitoyltransferase deficiency. The latter defect of fatty acid metabolism is associated with striated muscle dysfunction and hepatic failure.Entities:
