Bridging the gap between research and drug abuse treatment.

J L Sorensen1, E E Midkiff.

Abstract

There is a gulf between researchers and practitioners, due in part to conditions that existed before they began training, and partially due to their continued separation during training and practice. This article reviews some of the differences and offers suggestions for institutional and personal changes to bring researchers and practitioners more into accord.
