Abstract
We report a case of Crow-Fukase (POEMS) syndrome associated with pulmonary hypertension (PH). In this case, the concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) was extremely high in the serum, and the levels of IL-1beta, IL-6, TNF-alpha, and thiamine, which were thought in past reports to be mediators of PH in Crow-Fukase syndrome, were normal. After prednisolone therapy, PH disappeared with a dramatic decrease in serum VEGF. Our results suggest that VEGF is closely correlated with PH in Crow-Fukase syndrome.Entities:
