Abstract
An innovative program has brought physicians and coders together to reduce one facility's complication rates. To overcome physician resistance and improve physician documentation, quality management staff formed an ad hoc group of physicians to work with the coding supervisor to set clinical guidelines for the coding of complications, launched an in-house coding newsletter, and formed a coding subcommittee within the hospital's resource steering committee.Mesh:
