Abstract
The relationship between cell division and plant form has long been a battleground for the debate between those proclaiming and disclaiming an important role for cell division in morphogenetic and developmental processes. Recent evidence suggests that cell division and morphogenesis are intimately interconnected, and whereas overall architecture is determined by patterning genes, the elaboration and execution of developmental programmes require proper control of the cell-division cycle.Mesh:
