Abstract
The vascular plants have evolved from a simple body plan that has diversified into the vast array of architectures seen in plants today. Much architectural diversity results from the varied growth patterns of apical and axillary meristems. Current research is showing that meristem growth patterns are regulated genetically and hormonally, and the genes that control these processes are being identified and characterized.Entities:
