Abstract
In this article, the author compares emergency radiology as it was practiced and taught from the turn of the 20th century to the middle 1970s with the way it is practiced and taught today. Many specific examples are cited. External influences serendipitously converged in the 1960s-1980s, and their effect on the evolution of emergency radiology as it is recognized today are described.Mesh:
