Abstract
Atheroembolic disease is a known cause of renal failure following invasive vascular procedures in patients with atherosclerosis. It is, however, not generally associated with renal transplant dysfunction. We report on a case of donor-transmitted atheroembolic renal disease, which led to an immediate loss of the transplant kidney in the operating room. Risk factors associated with this condition and methods to prevent this complication are discussed.Entities:
