Management of presacral venous bleeding with the use of thumbtacks.

Abstract

Massive bleeding from the sacral basivertebral vein is uncommon and can be fatal because conventional methods to control the bleeding are often futile. The authors report an effective technique of the occlusion of the bleeding site with a thumbtack. Copyright 2000 S. Karger AG, Basel.
