[Surgical removal of left atrial tumor originating from mitral annular calcification in a chronic hemodialysis patient: a case report].

A 66-year-old female with a 3-year history hemodialysis suffered from cerebral infarction and revealed a tumor of left atrium by echocardiography at another hospital. She was referred to our hospital for surgery of left atrial tumor. The tumor was a round dense echogenic mass at the annular position of the posterior mitral leaflet by echocardiography. Surgical removal of the tumor was carried out because the lesion produced embolization. Histological examination revealed the tumor to be calcifications.
