Hydrocephalus caused by dolichoectatic basilar artery. Case report.

Abstract

The authors report a rare case of dolichoectatic basilar artery causing hydrocephalus by direct compression of foramen of Monro, documented by brain CT scan and MRI angiography, treated by positioning a biventriculo-peritoneal shunt. Pathogenesis, diagnostic difficulty and treatment are discussed.
