Abstract
Acute paraplegia is a rare presentation for a spinal cord ependymoma Among spinal cord tumors ependymomas are most commonly associated with subarachnoid hemorrhage and there is evidence that some have had intratumoral hemorrhage, but most of these bleedings pass without symptoms. In this report, a case of spinal cord ependymoma debutting with acute neurological deterioration due to tumoral bleeding is presented. We discuss the clinical and neuroradiological findings and review the literature related to this unusual presentation.Entities:
