Abstract
The management of peritoneal and hepatic metastases from gastrointestinal stromal tumors is a challenging clinical problem. Currently available systemic therapeutic agents have very limited activity in this particular disease. Patients with disease confined to a single organ/region are therefore managed either by surgery or regional therapy e.g. intraperitoneal therapy or hepatic arterial chemoembolization, whereas those with multiple sites of involvement should be enrolled on experimental trials of new agents.Entities:
