A mutant of Escherichia coli deficient in pyruvate formate lyase.

S Varenne, F Casse, M Chippaux, M C Pascal.

Abstract

A genetic study was performed on a mutation which has caused loss of pyruvate formate lyase. The gene affected is designated pfl and is located close to ser C, i.e. at 20 mn on the chromosomal map of E. coli.
